Ask any writer and they will probably tell you that it is substantially easier to write a complete novel than a short story or a component essay. I have recently learned the hard way that this axiom applies to film as well; it appears to be much easier to shoot and edit a full-length film than a short 90-second video.

Regardless of what you are trying to do, it is going to require a substantial amount of material that will need to be condensed and massaged to produce a quality product. As the managing editor and publisher of IDP (Integrated Digital Publishing), I am often required to do the condensing and massaging, and I must say although a great essay is difficult to write, filming, editing, and choreographing a short video is exponentially more difficult and intimidating.
