About Integrated Digital Publishing
Driven by technology, focused on content delivery.
Integrated Digital Publishing, also known as IDP, is a fresh and unique online publisher with unparalleled emphasis on quality and scope of content.
IDP is dedicated to creating a strong relationship with, and promotion of, our advertisers, their products and services. Using the internet, we have created an interactive environment for the customer to more easily identify with your company in ways that are impossible in traditional print-based advertising media. IDP allows the advertiser to take advantage of the phenomenal, inherent potential in the layering built into Webbased links as well as social networks related to your publication content.
IDP also understands social networking like blogs and we know how to use Web-based technology such as data warehousing and data mining. We can leverage that understanding for the benefit of the advertiser and the customer.
Given today’s fierce market competition, Integrated Digital Publishing provides advertisers a new way to reach an audience with a new depth of content.
A brief history
Based out of Mobile, Alabama, Integrated Digital Publishing (IDP) was established in 2007 by its Editor-in-Chief Jim Stenson. In July 2011, Stenson negotiated a new partnership and formed an LLC with three new partners: George Calef, a retired wildlife biologist, freelance writer, and longtime contributor to the Contemporary Sportsman and the Contemporary Wingshooter; Ron Ellis, author and associate editor and contributor to the Contemporary Sportsman and the Contemporary Wingshooter; and Dr. William J. Marx.
Responsible for the creation of the initial intellectual property, Jim is an avid fly fisherman and hunter, with a graduate degree from the College of Communication and Information Sciences at Florida State University as well as an MS in Library Science. In 2008, Jim embarked on a two-year quest to design the perfect online digital magazine. IDP is presently using this design to publish its growing line of digital fly-fishing and wingshooting publications. The same usability strategy is now being employed to deliver IDP’s publications on Apple’s iPhone and iPad information delivery platforms. During this period, Stenson also conducted extensive research into the needs of the burgeoning on-line publishing industry, organizing focus groups throughout the country that yielded valuable product feedback prior to the January 2010 launch of IDP’s first on-line publication, The Contemporary Sportsman, which is targeted to fly-fishing and wingshooting enthusiasts.
Development began in June 2010 on the application that would allow IDP to deliver its publications on-line on Apple’s iPad. The Contemporary Sportsman was launched on iPad in September 2010 and the sale of individual copies, as well as annual subscriptions, are now available through Apple’s iTunes store with its 160 million account holders. The Contemporary Wingshooter was launched on-line on iPad in November 2010 and IDP’s newest magazine, Backcast, is forthcoming.
